To My Dear Friends in Boating

Wow, what a kick off to the boating season. We had such a nice turn out for the annual Spring Auction. Do to your most generous donations the club will be able to sustain itself for the coming season and we will also be able to plan for a nice Commodore’s Ball at the end of 2012. Again, thank you for your support and generosity. A big THANK YOU to our auctioneers, Ken Chrzanowski and Chris Los without their enthusiasm we could not have reached our goal and had as much fun in getting there.

Do you remember the TV show Cleveland Rocks with Drew Carey? Well Last weeks end that’s exactly what our club members did in Cleveland,” We Rocked”. On Friday night we all went out to dinner and then we went to a Comedy Club and saw Joe Koy and was he ever funny, I haven’t laughed so much in a long time. Saturday morning some of us went to PJ’s for breakfast and then later that morning we all met up and went to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. We stayed for about six hours and we probably didn’t see all of it. I myself spent at least two hours at the Elvis Presley exhibit and another hour in the gift shop looking through all the music. Later that evening we all met back for dinner at the hotel and ate in our own private dining room. After dinner some of us were BAD we walked down to the Chocolate Bar and had Almond Bailey shakes and let me tell you they were deliciously sinful. Sunday morning some of us had a light breakfast before we all boarded the Vans and headed for the ride back home. Bob Finnigan can you hear the A-P-P-A-L-U-S-E???????????? Bob I think you out did yourself this time. I don’t know where to begin, the vans where super clean and comfortable, the games that we played on the way down made it an enjoyable trip. Our hotel was so close to the restaurants. The Comedy Club was fun. We loved the Rock and Roll museum. Most of all thank you and Stan Grouse for driving us there and bringing us all back safely. Bob did I hear you right that you volunteered to do another trip for us next year??????????? Send Bob your suggestions for next year. Thank you again Bob and Jennie.

Memorial Day Week End at the Keen’s marina is just around the corner. See the enclosed flyer. Ken and Nancy Chrzanowski have a great holiday week-end planned for us. Please send your money in so they can reserve a space for you. Looking forward to dinner at DYC and Barbeque by Kenny C. and of course the famous game by the Chrzanowski’s ( I wonder what it will be). Hope to see all of you there. Oh, don’t forget your bathing suits they have a very nice pool.

“Sip and Dip” Island Cove Marina, come by car. Meet at the Commodore’s Boat Well (123). ”Theme for our group will be Polish.” Fee is $l0, BYOB Call and let me know what to bring (Appetizers) We will decorate our area. You can even dress up in costume or not. See the enclosed flyer. Parking is at a premium, choices are either in center in the marina or outside lot next to marina and then walking to our well. It is a lot of fun.

Congratulations’ to Bob and Jennie who by the time you receive this newsletter will be Mr. and Mrs. Robert Finnigan celebrating their Wedding and Honeymooning on a warm secluded beach .

We also have two Wedding Anniversaries, Jim and Christine Los they had an April Wedding and Happy anniversary to Ken and Nancy Chrzanowski and they had a May Wedding. A little Birdie told me that next year both couples will be celebrating their 50th anniversaries.

Happy Birthday to Ken Chrzanowski, and many more to come.

Hat’s off to our Chaplin Edmond Gauvreau who always seems to know when a prayer of thanksgiving is needed to remind of us of how lucky we are to have such wonderful friends.

If you have any questions regarding any of the outings just give me a call 248 375 282

I am taking a poll to see if anyone is still interested in the Grosse Isle outing in August or would like to change it to somewhere else. I’m open to suggestions So far we are still on for it but it can be changed. Email sfougerousse@comcast.net

I hope that I can serve you well.

Your friend in boating,

Commodore Susan Fougerousse
